Friends of Arts Education

By supporting the Friends of Arts Education at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (FAE) you help bring the arts into the lives of children and give them new ways to see the world.  FAE programs impacts the community by encouraging youth to think creatively, to celebrate multiple perspectives, and to dream beyond their circumstances.

A study led by Dr. Shirley Brice Heath at Stanford University shows that young people who participate in the arts for at least 3 hours, 3 days each week for a full year or more are:

• 4 times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement
• 3 times more likely to be elected to class office within their school
• 4 times more likely to participate in a math and science fair
• 3 times more likely to win an award for school attendance
• 4 times more likely to win an award for writing an essay or poem
