Workshops are developed to support individual educational performances. We work with professional artists and arts educators to develop comprehensive, informative and interactive sessions that provide curriculum materials and ideas for teaching about and through the performing arts, particularly in reference to the California State Board of Education Content Standards.

The FRIENDS Curriculum Guides are distributed at each Professional Workshop for teachers. Each guide includes:
• General information about the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts
• Specialized vocabulary
• Suggested hands-on activities in the arts
• Suggested applications of the arts activities to other curricular subjects
• A reference to the education standards and guidelines that are being addressed
• A rubric for assessment of student learning
• A list of additional educational resources
• A section reserved for teachers to write notes and record arts lessons they create
