Daytime Educational Performances at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts are at the core of the Friends educational outreach program. Not only does this programming educate students of all ages about the disciplines of the performing arts, including dance, music and theatre, but they encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving. Students have the opportunity to experience a first-class performance at a premier cultural arts center in Southern California.

The arts enable students to build self-esteem, to work cooperatively within groups and to effectively express themselves. Additionally, daytime performances enable us to teach appropriate theater etiquette to young people. More than 22 school districts in Los Angeles and Orange counties have participated in these programs. Each performance is offered free of charge.

The arts are a vital and indispensable part of a comprehensive education, and the Friends strive to provide students and teachers in our community with unique, high-quality opportunities for exposure to and participation in the performing arts.
